Looking to meet new people? Amicus was established in 1995 and simply aims to provide single adults with a place to share interests with like-minded people and take part in leisure activities set up by the social organisation. The main purpose of the organisation is to promote social events for single people rather than promoting itself as a dating agency. Ashby/Pithiviers Town Twinning Association

Ashby has been twinned with Pithiviers, a similar-sized town 50 miles south west of Paris since 1960. Through the very active Ashby/Pithiviers Association Ashby people and groups can arrange exchange visits and home stays with families of similar interests in France. An annual adult exchange visit is for individual adults interested in spending a long weekend with a French family and/or hosting similar in their home, with a full programme of activities organised by the Association to provide an interesting stay.

Special interest groups who have exchanged in the past include school students, sports teams, dancers, orchestras and choirs, bridge players, photographers and more. We have also arranged language opportunities/work placements in Pithiviers for Ashby students and in Ashby for Pithiviers students.

Anybody interested in gaining more information about the opportunities that this association has, please feel free to contact the Association on ptva@hotmail.co.uk.
